WARM-o-RAMA : Jumping jacks, cherry picker back-claps, squats, and mosey around the parking lot
THE THANG: 4 rounds of 19 coupon swings to overhead, 19 squats with coupon, 19 merkins on coupon 400m run/walk with coupon. Total of 76 swing, 76 squats, 76 merkins and 1 mile with the coupon. The pax started near the parking lot and worked their way around the paved trail searching in the gloom for the next orange marking for the chance to plank while waiting for the start of the next round. Rinse and repeat around the path which looped back around to starting point. While planking prior to last round the pax learned the symbolism of the “Mogadishu Mile”
Symbolism of the “Mogadishu Mile”
*You cover a total distance of one mile. Even though the soldiers actually walked between 2.5 and 3 miles depending on their starting point, it has become known as a “mile”. You carry your KB during the run to symbolize the gear the soldiers carried.
*19 reps – one honoring each soldier of Task Force Ranger killed during the battle and the day after.
*Ground to swing overhead – as the soldiers held up their rifles the entire time
*Squats – as they sought cover behind anything available
*Push-ups – as they fell to the ground and had to get back up
*Don’t let the coupon go – symbolic for the dedication the soldiers showed towards their creed to ‘not leave a man behind
MARY Each pax picked the their preferred method of pain ending with the Q. Big boy sit-ups, American Hammers, Shoulder taps, and plank step outs
End of Workout
Circle of Trust (CoT) Inevitably inertia/resistance will appear when you attempt to better yourself or do anything worthwhile (right your canoe). They can be internal and external thoughts, criticisms, influences, etc. The co-worker who calls you crazy for waking up so early, temptation to sleep in, doubt in yourself to lead etc. Those are amateur thoughts and we are a group of HIMS. VQ asked for feedback on the beatdown for areas of improvement and what went well if anything. Iron sharpens Iron.
