Pre-Blast:  Like Bart Simpson said, Yard Sale’s sensual Song of Solomon workout last week at Ideal got me all hot and bothered so I’m ready to do the deed this week. My VQ will have you spending lots of QT with your coupon and you’ll need some gloves and grippy shoes because things might get messy. HC below for multiple trips to the Love Shack in celebration of my frosty first time at Ideal Park.

THE THANG
Like the other AO, we had to adjust a few things to account for ice on the pathways. Beatdown was a series of coupon lifts alternating with a run/coupon carry until all exercises were complete.

  • 10 blockees
    • From here the PAX had two options for their trip to the Love Shack:
      • Coupon carry to the Love Shack and engage in next exercise at the Shack
      • Run without coupon at a quick pace to the Love Shack and back and engage in the next exercise at the original beatdown spot
  • 10 alternating block merkins (R+L=1)

  • 20 coupon curl and press

      • Junger reports a conversation with Rachel Yeluda from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City: “If you want to make a society work, then you don’t keep underscoring the places where you are different–you underscore your shared humanity,” she told me. “I’m appalled how much people focus on differences. Why are you focusing on how different you are from one another, and not on the things that unite us?”
    • Talked about what unites us in a season and culture of division. We might all have different views and backgrounds, but the love of the gloom, the desire to sacrifice, work hard, make ourselves better… these unites us. Challenge is to carry our F3 emphasis on what unites over into our other spheres of influence.
