Backblast #765–Q School

AO: Ideal Park
Workout Date: 08/12/2021
QIC: Hoffa
PAX: Chubbs, Forrest, Leeroy Jenkins
Pre-Blast: I have the Q at Ideal Park tomorrow. There have been a lot of new Pax at F3 this year, and many of you have not yet stepped up to Q. I know from experience that this can be intimidating. So tomorrow we’re going to do a Q school. Come join me as we practice some F3 basics and help give you the confidence you need to step up and Q. Come join if you think this would be helpful for you or if you want to provide some veteran leadership and encouragement. No coupons needed. HC here and I’ll see you at 0530.

5 Core Principles: Free of charge | Open to all men | Held outdoors, rain or shine, hot or cold | Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion with no training or certification necessary | End w/ a Circle of Trust

After reciting the principles and disclaimer, YHC took some time to explain the three parts of a beatdown, the difference between doing an exercise in cadence or oyo, the different types of cadences, and how to properly call out an exercise.

We practiced both 4 count and 2 count cadences while we did SSHs, BBS, and Merkins.

The Thang

Each Pax took a turn calling out an exercise and leading it in cadence.  Then we all ran a lap together.  Then the same pax led the same exercise over again to reinforce the skill.  We did this exercise-run-exercise pattern 11 times.  The exercises were:

  • Hoffa led LBCs (4ct)
  • Forrest led American Hammers (4ct)
  • Leeroy Jenkins led Al Gore
  • Chubbs led Mountain Climbers (4ct)
  • Hoffa led Pickle Pointers (2ct)
  • Forrest led Flutter kicks (4ct)
  • Leeroy Jenkins led Squat Jumps (4ct)
  • Chubbs led Burpees IC
  • Hoffa led Foxhole Merkins (6ct)
  • Forrest led Motivators from 7
  • Leeroy Jenkins led Merkins IC

  • Curb dips IC x10
  • BBS IC x20
  • Circle of Goofballs
